The role of Pastors, Prophets, Apostles, Teachers and Evangelists is to equip the saints for the work of the ministry.

We see this online bible study as a place to equip the saints to search out the scriptures themselves, like the Bereans in Acts 17.

The Bereans, Acts 17:11, were commended in the bible because they received the word. But they not only received the word gladly , they searched out the scriptures to confirm the word they heard.

Our walk is our responsibility. And Paul says to work it out with fear and trembling! (Philippians 2:12).

We need to be a people grounded in the Word and grounded in Him.

We also see the bible study as a place of encouragement and invite you to join in the study and add your comments to how God spoke to you through the scripture studied.

None of the team involved are scholars – but we are disciples! We use resources on hand: the bible, concordances and online resources.

Our self-styled method is we take the verse of the day, read it in 2-3 different versions of the bible. (www.biblegateway.com). Then we read 2-3 commentators expositions on the same verse (www.studylight.org > commentaries). We also pick out a word or two from the verse and look at the interlinear bible on studylight.org which gives the original Hebrew or Greek root meaning of the Word. As we do all this we allow the Holy Spirit to speak to our heart and note it down.

Studying His Word is also a wonderful time of fellowship with the Lord, after all, He is the Word of God!
